World Book Day
We celebrate World Book Day on the 23rd of April. The purpose of celebrating World Book Day is to promote the importance of individuals reading books. By doing so, we also hope to inspire people to write and share their own stories with the general public. Through the “Gift Book Scheme” established by the Education Bureau, children in this kindergarten will receive a free book to take home and read with their families. Together we can improve our knowledge by reading lots of different and interesting books.
Parent Child Positive Writing Station
At TWGHs Lee Wong Hing Cheung Memorial Kindergarten, we believe in striving for a positive attitude towards life. Accomplishing this starts from the heart and the people around us. After the Easter holiday, students were able to return to campus for face to face lessons. Spreading positivity between the staff, parents and students because everybody has returned with a joyful mood. To continue to spread a positive message throughout the school, we will set up the “Parent Child positive writing station” where we will invite students and parents to write encouraging messages supporting each other. This event will take part between Monday 12th April until the Friday 16th April 2021. Each student will receive one heart card and will be encouraged to a message promoting positivity through gracious words after class resumption. The inspiring message can take the form of words or pictures. Once completed, the children can hang their message off the positive tree outside the school.
‘BRING ME A BOOK’ project
Our school successfully applied to the ‘BRING ME A BOOK’ foundation to support us by providing a bookcase. Graciously, the ‘BRING ME A BOOK’ foundation worked in conjunction with ‘Octopus’ and provided us with a high quality bookcase with 45 age appropriate and culturally diverse children’s books in Chinese and English. We are very happy to invite parents and students to our school to cut the ribbon and open the bookcase for the use of all our students as they embark on their academic journey.
